SUNDAY SERVICE MINISTRY There are a number of teams that serve on a Sunday at both of our services. On any given Sunday they will be there serving to make sure that everything runs well. WELCOME TEAM You will meet the welcome team at the door as you enter the building, as they greet you and welcome you to the service. They are also at the welcome corner in the hall and you can ask them for any assistance, especially if you are visiting for the first time. Please contact Marc Hemmens to find out more. SWEET AND SALTY After our evening service we often sell snacks, that can be sweet like donuts or salty such as pizza slices. It creates a great space to connect and not rush home straight after church. Please contact Kim Anderson to find out more. TEA AND COFFEE A fter most services we encourage everyone to stay for a cup of tea or coffee in the hall, as it’s a great way to connect after the service. Sunday is the one time most of the church family come together and so we provide a space to catch up and nurture relationships. Please contact Lin Anderson to find out more. COFFEE BAR In the inter-leading area between the church and the hall you will find the coffee bar. This is for those who love their cappuccino’s and a variety of other coffee blends. Another space for us to connect over good coffee! Please contact Jessi Claassen to find out more.

- Men's Ministry | Lighthouse
MEN'S MINISTRY Our men’s ministry is headed up by a team led by Morne Redlynhuys We believe that it is so important for men to grow in their faith together. God has placed some responsibility on men in society, marriage, the family and the church and so we want to encourage and support our men as we grow up in Him Eph 4. To this end we get together to spur one another on as iron sharpens iron. During the year we will host a few breakfasts where we get the chance to eat good manly food, drink strong coffee and pray for one another. We have played paintball because no matter how old you are, most guys still like to shoot stuff… and one another! Around Father’s Day each year we go to the House of Resurrection children’s home to spend some time with the children there and just for a day, show them what godly men and fathers look like. We are aiming for a men’s camp next year and are intentional about building bridges in our society by partnering with other churches to have an impact for the Kingdom. To enquirer get involved, please contact Morne Redlinghuys.

MISSIONS At Lighthouse our vision is 'to impact our city and beyond with the Kingdom of God' and so missions both local and to the ends of the earth are part of our mandate. We have for many years partnered with various ministries that serve the poorest of the poor around our city where the need is great. More recently, we have also initiated partnerships with churches and other remote ministries where the needs are also great. Gary Hempel has built up extensive experience in a variety of missions spaces over the years and currently leads our Mission Team. Please get in touch with him if you want to know more. garhempel@gmail.com LOCAL PARTNERSHIPS The Ubomi Obutsha Centre is based in Kwazakhele and headed up by Mark Lawler, a member of Lighthouse. Scripture Union The mission of SU South Africa is to lead young people to know and walk with God. They are dedicated to reaching young minds during the critical “4/14 window,” typically between ages 10 and 19, igniting a lifelong journey of faith. Gerald Nzeve Gerald currently does Church Planting in a rural community outside of Harare. He is focussed on discipleship, as well as using creative means of reaching his community for Christ, including sports ministry and Discovery Bible Study. Homeless Outreach This ministry has been going for the last two years. Once a week we provide a sandwich to the homeless people in Newton Park, adults as well as children. We spend time with them, pray for them and bring the Word at appropriate moments. Through the love, food and medical treatment shared we see the Holy Spirit drawing them closer. On Thursday mornings we have a literacy class for the children at the church. They also learn about the Lord and get to know Him. During the break times they make use of the play area and have some food and treats. One way to assist is to make sandwiches, mostly cold meat and cheese, for around 24 people. Our needs therefore include polonies, viennas and cheese which can be stored at the church. Another need is underwear. For further enquiries please contact Petro Mocke on 0662707367. APOSTOLIC PARTNERSHIPS These partnerships involve working alongside local churches to foster their growth and promote the advancement of the Kingdom. A significant portion of these efforts is facilitated through our affiliation with Immerse, a network of churches that unite in their spiritual growth journey to bring about the realisation of God's Kingdom on earth. We provide continuous support to two dedicated pastors, Vuyisile Fulmeni and Zola Moses, who are actively serving the communities. GLOBAL PARTNERSHIPS We maintain regular contact with pastors and ministries in some of the most unreached regions of the world. SHORT TERM OUTREACHES At Lighthouse we value visiting and supporting our partners further afield in our Judea, Samaria and Ends of the Earth. We currently have partnerships with individuals and Churches in Jeffreys Bay, Lesotho, the Middle East and Asia.
- Prayer | Lighthouse
PRAYER At Lighthouse we believe in the power of prayer. When the church comes together to pray, God starts to move in power. Given our location in the city, and the business of people’s lives we acknowledge it’s difficult to have a regular meeting at the church so we have a number of opportunities to pray together… Our intercession and prayer ministry is headed up by Ingrid Ferg. First Tuesday of the month is our monthly church prayer meeting. We meet in the hall from 6.30 to 7.30 pm Every Wednesday a Whatsapp message will be sent to the LFC prayer group giving you prayer pointers to pray for. If you want to be on that Whatsapp group please contact Ingrid. Every Tuesday morning the staff host a prayer time at 9am and anyone is welcome to join as they pray for the church and upcoming events. Every Sunday morning the children’s church team meet for prayer at 8.15am in the rondawel, and the music team meet in the lounge at 8.45 to pray for the service. On the second Sunday of every month there is a mission focused prayer meeting after the morning service, also in the rondawel. Then twice a year at the end of January and the end of July we have a week of prayer and fasting as we commit ourselves to the Lord. For those passionate about prayer and intercession you are welcome to pop in to any of these meetings.
