MISSIONS

At Lighthouse our vision is 'to impact our city and beyond with the Kingdom of God' and so missions both local and to the ends of the earth are part of our mandate.

We have for many years partnered with various ministries that serve the poorest of the poor around our city where the need is great. More recently, we have also initiated partnerships with churches and other remote ministries where the needs are also great.

Gary Hempel has built up extensive experience in a variety of missions spaces over the years and currently leads our Mission Team. Please get in touch with him if you want to know more.

LOCAL PARTNERSHIPS
The Ubomi Obutsha Centre is based in Kwazakhele and headed up by Mark Lawler, a member of Lighthouse. This project serves poor and vulnerable families in their community through a wide variety of activities that are packaged within their home-grown Family Focus programme.
Jeannie's Soup Kitchen
Jeannie Edwards oversees Jeannie's Soup Kitchen, which operates from Extension 6, next to Malabar. Mhlali's House
Mihlali Children’s Haven is a temporary place of safety in Gqeberha offering care to vulnerable children age 0-3. Mihlali means “joy” in isiXhosa and we aim to offer a family environment looking after the children’s physical, emotional and spiritual needs until they move on to their forever families.
