MEET OUR TEAM TREVOR ANDERSON Senior Pastor Email Trevor MARC HEMMENS Associate Pastor Email Marc CUAN GEERE Youth & Young Adults Pastor Email Cuan KIM ANDERSON Children's Pastor Email Kim ASTRID DICKS Church Office Administrator Email Astrid OUR BELIEFS STATEMENT OF FAITH The Bible We believe the Old and New Testament Scriptures are inspired by God.The Bible is the final authority for what we believe and how we live. It teaches us who God is, reveals His plan of salvation through Jesus Christ, and guides us in how to follow Him.At Lighthouse Family Church, we believe God’s Word is not only something to be studied, but something to be lived. Through Scripture, we learn truth, receive wisdom, grow in faith, and are shaped to live lives that honour God. God We believe there is one God who exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.God is the Creator, Sustainer, and Ruler of all things. He is holy, loving, faithful, and worthy of our worship. He has made Himself known to us through Scripture and through His Son, Jesus Christ. At Lighthouse Family Church, we believe God is not distant or unknown. He invites people into relationship with Him, leads us by His Spirit, and calls us to live for His glory. Jesus Christ We believe Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He is fully God and fully human.Jesus came into the world to reveal God, live without sin, and give His life for us. He died on the cross as our substitute, taking the punishment for our sins so that we could be forgiven and made right with God.We believe Jesus rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now lives as our High Priest and Advocate. He continues to represent us before the Father and gives us confidence to draw near to God.At Lighthouse Family Church, Jesus is at the centre of our faith, our worship, and our message. We believe He is alive, He is Lord, and He will personally return. The Holy Spirit We believe the Holy Spirit is a person who brings new life to believers and lives within them. The Holy Spirit helps us understand God’s truth, grow in our relationship with Jesus, and live in a way that honours God. He is not a force or feeling, but the presence of God at work in the life of every believer. We believe the Holy Spirit helps Christians display the fruit of the Spirit and use the spiritual gifts God gives. Through His work in us, we are strengthened, guided, and equipped to serve God and others. At Lighthouse Family Church, we believe the Christian life is lived through the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit. Humanity We believe God created humanity in His image.Every person has value, dignity, and purpose because they have been made by God. We were created to know Him, worship Him, and live in relationship with Him.We believe humanity sinned and brought both physical and spiritual death into the world. Because of this, every person is born with a sinful nature and needs the grace and forgiveness of God.At Lighthouse Family Church, we believe every person matters to God. No one is beyond His love, and everyone is invited to find new life, hope, and restoration through Jesus Christ. Salvation We believe Jesus Christ died for our sins as our substitute, as the Scriptures teach.Salvation is God’s gift of grace. It is not something we can earn through good works, religious activity, or personal effort. Every person needs forgiveness, and that forgiveness is made possible through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We believe everyone who places their faith in Jesus is forgiven and made right with God through His sacrifice. When a person receives Jesus Christ by faith, they are born again through the Holy Spirit and become a child of God.At Lighthouse Family Church, we believe salvation is found in Jesus alone. Through Him, we receive forgiveness, new life, and a restored relationship with God. The Christian Life We believe every Christian is called to live a holy life, devoted to Jesus Christ and committed to serving Him.Following Jesus is not only about what we believe. It is also about how we live. God calls His people to grow in faith, love, obedience, and service. We believe every believer has direct access to God and is called to serve Him. This is the priesthood of all believers. Every Christian has a part to play in the life of the church and in the mission of God.We also believe the Holy Spirit helps believers display the fruit of the Spirit and use the spiritual gifts God gives. Through His work in us, we are shaped to become more like Jesus and equipped to serve others. At Lighthouse Family Church, we believe the Christian life is lived daily, through devotion to Jesus, love for people, and faithful service to God. Baptism, Communion, and Eternity We believe Jesus gave the church two important practices: baptism and communion.Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water. It is a public step of faith that identifies a person with Jesus in His death, burial, and resurrection. Through baptism, a believer declares that they belong to Christ and have received new life in Him.Communion is the sharing of the elements as symbols of Christ’s body and blood. We practice communion in remembrance of Jesus’ sacrifice and as a reminder of the central truths of the Christian faith. We believe Jesus Christ will personally return, and there will be a resurrection of all people. Those who belong to Christ will experience eternal life with Him. Those who reject salvation will remain separated from God.At Lighthouse Family Church, baptism and communion help us remember what Jesus has done, while the promise of eternity reminds us of the hope we have in Him. The following are the core beliefs of Lighthouse Family Church, based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. Everything we teach and everything we do as a church is rooted in God’s Word and flows from these biblical beliefs. At Lighthouse Family Church, we believe marriage is a holy covenant designed by God between one natural man and one natural woman. If you are planning a wedding and would like to be married at Lighthouse, or by one of our pastors, we invite you to read our marriage guidelines. These guidelines explain our heart for marriage and help couples prepare for a Christ-centred marriage. Our Heart for Marriage OUR VALUES WHAT GUIDES US AS A CHURCH Our values shape the way we live, serve, and grow together at Lighthouse Family Church. They help us stay focused on what matters most as we follow Jesus, love people, build community, and live on mission. Respect People matter, so we will treat one another with dignity and respect, being patient with one another as we grow together in community. Purpose We believe in the local church, flawed as we are. It remains the means of reaching the world, so the church should therefore engage the community in which it is situated. Honour We honour God and His Word as the highest authority in our lives, as well as respecting God’s delegated authorities on earth. Grace We live in a culture of grace where we accept one another without compromising on truth. Worship We believe that God has given everyone a gift with which we are called to serve Him, as an act of worship, to the best of our ability. Transparency Our faith is expressed best when we are honest, humble, child-like, and without pretense. Family We believe that God calls us to family so we do our part in building family values. Unity We are called to unity so we will respect and value the diversity of the body of Christ Character We believe Christ-like character is normal for every Christian and we hold each other accountable to the Word of God. Journey We understand that we are all at different stages on the same journey of faith, and we will help each other along the way. Freedom Since Christ has set us free from the bondages of sin, dead works and religiosity, we make it our goal to grow in our understanding of who we are in Christ, and to walk in greater freedom. Relevance We recognise that God desires to reach this generation, so that we can accept change as inevitable as we continuously seek to be relevant.

WELCOME TEAM You will meet the welcome team at the door as you enter the building, as they greet you and welcome you to the service. They are also at the welcome corner in the hall and you can ask them for any assistance, especially if you are visiting for the first time. Please contact Marc Hemmens to find out more. SWEET AND SALTY After our evening service we often sell snacks, that can be sweet like donuts or salty such as pizza slices. It creates a great space to connect and not rush home straight after church. Please contact Kim Anderson to find out more.
